Contribute to SCPOC The Sea Cliff – North Shore Property Owners Committee (SCPOC) is an all volunteer organization with a mission to protect property owner rights and keep taxes under control. Your home is your castle, and probably your most valuable investment. Yet the folks in Village hall want to be your landlord, telling you what you can and cannot do, and how much you will pay. High taxes and a village hall with a notoriety for being bureaucratic and difficult may discourage prospective home buyers from moving into our community. Many contractors refuse to work in the Village for fear of being fined or harassed by the building department. Is this the friendly & affordable community we signed up for? Committee members presence at hearings and meetings has already made a significant impact at keeping your property taxes from exceeding the 2% cap. With your help, we can push taxes lower by focusing attention on misplaced priorities and overspending. Municipal officials issue the bare minimum notice on public hearings and local law changes. Then they count on low constituent attendance to push their agenda through. There are significant issues on the horizon with NY American Water and their price gouging. In addition, the Village is preparing to purchase the NY American property on Prospect Ave for 1.6 million dollars. The Village claims they want to develop the site into yoga studios or other public recreational use. The construction costs for this project may be significant. Is buying another space in a 1 mile village that already has 9 other parks including a large beach facility a wise move? Mailings, postage and other means of communication cost money. As we are volunteers, we pay all expenses out of our own pocket. So we ask for your help. Your contribution will help us defray the cost of postage and mailings to the community. Thank you for your generosity. Sincerely yours, Anthony Losquadro, Chairman Sea Cliff Property Owners Committee Please use the button below to make a donation.
